Welcome to Bookworm
“We read books to find out who we are. What other people, real or imaginary, do and think and feel… is an essential guide to our understanding of what we ourselves are and may become.”
— Ursula K. Le Guin
Why does web-books.com exist?
We were tired of shallow book reviews. You know the kind: a quick plot summary, a star rating, and a vague “I liked it.” That’s not analysis. It doesn’t respect the book, and it doesn’t respect the reader.
We believe that deep literary analysis shouldn’t be locked away in expensive university textbooks or hidden behind dry, impenetrable academic language. Good books deserve good conversation.
We started this site to fill that gap.
What We Do
Our mission is simple. We provide thoughtful, in-depth analysis of books (new and old) written in a way that is accessible, engaging, and friendly.
We don’t just tell you if a book is good. We explore why it works.
We break down the themes. We question the character arcs. We look at the structure, the prose, and the ideas the author is wrestling with. This is the core of what we do.
Think of web-books.com as your most well-read friend (the one who actually took notes) who is finally ready to sit down and really talk about what you both just read.
Our Philosophy
We’re a team of passionate readers and critical thinkers. We believe reading is an active process, not a passive one.
You won’t find paid-for hype, clickbait titles, or simplistic judgments here. Our commitment is to the text itself and to readers who, like us, want to understand the world a little better through the literature we consume.
We just provide honest criticism.
We’re here to start the conversations that great books demand.
