"Web Books Publishing" is located in Los Angeles, California. It was renamed from "Web Book Publications" in late 2007.

The new name signifies a new direction. We are developing a web publishing platform to help you publish ebooks in the standard EPUB format. You are invited to use this free tool to publish your ebooks, either for free or for sale.

One of the reasons why we like the EPUB format so much is because it is ideal for anyone to participate in writing textbooks. The EPUB format is essentially a zipped file of XHTML documents. Like HTML documents, XHTML documents can be read and edited online. Thus, with the EPUB format, not only can a book's contents be read both online and offline, the contents can be edited online and immediately converted into the EPUB format for download. This allows anyone living anywhere in the world to participate in writing a book. In the near future, we will launch a website named "ccebooks.org", where all ebooks are in the standard EPUB format licensed under Creative Commons by Share Alike (CC-SA). This license allows you to copy "good stuff" into your book under the condition that your entire book must also allow other authors to copy. Since every author is likely to copy good stuff and contribute more good stuff, a CC-SA book will become better and better. Our Web Publishing platform is designed to help the community write the best and free textbooks.
